Lighthouses

There's something special about lighthouses. A combination of history and mystery and nautical flavor. The Traverse City area boasts a variety of historic lighthouses stretching along the Lake Michigan shore. Some are easily accessible by car. Some you need to walk to. Two require a boat ride to see, because they're on South and North Manitou Islands in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
